Here is a application called CCleaner I just love. It cleans up all of the garbage hiding on your computer: temporary files, cookies, cached items, browser history logs and more. In this tutorial, we'll show you how to install and run CCleaner.

PLEASE FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS EXACTLLY

First, go ahead and download CCleaner from this site.

Once the file has downloaded, double-click the icon to install it. You should see this:

Go through and accept the default options UNTIL you reach the following screen. I recommend these options:

After it has installed, reboot into Safe Mode (keep tapping F8 as your computer boots up, and you will get a screen with the option to go into Safe Mode)

Once in Safe Mode, run CCleaner. We recommend that you leave all of the options checked, HOWEVER, you should be aware that it will delete your Internet cookies - this may cause you to have to re-login at certain websites (like this one). It shouldn't be a problem as long as you know your password, or have Firefox remember it for you.

Click the Run Cleaner button to have it scan and clean your PC. If you're worried about what CCLeaner might delete, you can press the Analyze button first.

That's it! CCleaner will get rid of all the hidden garbage on your PC, which can really add up!
